Atlanta Adaptive Solutions Presentation
AAS will present their proposal on possible solutions to help alleviate the strain caused by inefficient parking policy at Georgia Tech.

We have issues in inefficiency on our campus
Causing inconvenience and safety issues to students

Short-Term Goals:

1. Open the CRC and Klaus parking decks after 5:00 for all students, including students without parking permits

2. Offer a 15% discount for parking lots requiring students to move their cars. Upon successful implementation of this proposal, the CRC and Klaus parking decks should be open after 5:00 pm and offer a 15% discount for students who park in specified lots that require them to move their cars for every home game. This addresses the west campus parking problem and price concerns for students with certain parking permits. These solutions have low to zero costs associated with them and would bring ease to numerous parking troubles. This will also improve the student satisfaction ratings of Georgia Tech parking service. Very little is risked by management, but remarkable gains in satisfaction are expected.

Long-Term Goals:

1. Convert the Wreck Lot into an additional parking lot The Wreck Lot would be converted into an additional parking lot. This will also help further alleviate the parking congestion on campus. Once congestion levels are low, this will pave way for better analysis and monitoring of parking habits during the games. Parking demand will be identified and quantified and the inconsistent parking practices can be refined for minimal intrusiveness to students. A byproduct of these accomplishments would be more visibility for patrolman, which will have a positive effect on campus safety and security.

2. Monitor the demand for games Monitoring the demand for games would entail simply determining which games will have a higher attendance than others. For example, if the football team is playing a smaller school, a student should not have to move his or her car from their lot because the deck won’t be filled up. This would not cost anything and would only require the parking department to communicate with the Athletic department’s ticketing office to see which games will be sold out and which games won’t be as well-attended.
